In London, microneedling performed at a medical-grade level is recognised for its ability to stimulate the skin's natural collagen production. With regular treatments over time, this can lead to enhanced skin elasticity, firmness, complexion, reduced hyperpigmentation, and diminished appearance of fine lines and scars.
At YourHealthFirst Clinic, we offer micro-needling as a cosmetic treatment to promote collagen production through the use of small, sterilised needles. Consistent treatments over a period can result in improved skin elasticity, firmness, complexion, reduced hyperpigmentation, and a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and scars.
Micro-needling, a cosmetic procedure, utilises small, sanitised needles to puncture the skin in a controlled manner. It aims to stimulate new skin tissue and collagen production, resulting in smoother, firmer, and toned skin for all skin types, including olive skin tones.
The procedure uses small, sanitised needles for controlled treatment, minimising downtime and side effects. It effectively addresses concerns like acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation, leading to improved skin texture and complexion.
Micro-needling is mainly used on the face to reduce the visibility of acne, scars, dark spots, wrinkles, and clogged pores. It helps improve the overall appearance of the skin.

Everything you need to know about microneedling at YourHealthFirst Clinic.
If you are prone to scarring, are pregnant, or suffer from rosacea or eczema, consult your dermatologist to see if micro-needling is safe for you.
Patients undergo microneedling treatment after receiving a topical numbing medication, which prevents any pain associated with the procedure. There is also no downtime, so you can resume work right after the treatment.
Microneedling devices contain tiny needles that make pin-pricks in the top layer of skin. When these microneedles puncture the skin, the controlled trauma helps promote new collagen production. Replenishing collagen in the areas affected by acne scars reduces the pre-treatment damage from acne, promoting skin texture rejuvenation. Most patients require a short series of microneedling treatment sessions to achieve optimal rejuvenation results, each spaced approximately 4 weeks apart. Treatment can also be enhanced by combining it with rejuvenating or restorative topical serums — the absorbency of such serums is enhanced through the newly created micro-channels in the skin. Vitamin C serum and other de-pigmentation solutions are great additions for reducing facial hyperpigmentation, as well as platelet-rich plasma treatment (PRP) for general skin rejuvenation.
This depends on the severity of your scars and your desired results. For mild to moderate scars, you may only need 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. For more severe scars, you may need up to 12 sessions. It can take up to 6 months to see full results from microneedling.
Microneedling for acne scars should be done in a series of treatments. Typically, a 30-minute session every four weeks is effective for treating acne scars. The frequency of sessions will depend on the severity of scarring and other factors — some patients are encouraged to wait up to six weeks between treatments to fully allow the new collagen to form. Minimal downtime is required between sessions, and most patients feel fully recovered in as little as 24 hours.

Learn more →Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is one of the most effective treatments for spider veins and small varicose veins on the legs. A very fine needle injects a sclerosing solution into the vein, irritating its lining so the walls stick together — blood stops flowing through the vein, which is gradually absorbed by the body over a few weeks. Dr Sofia is a member of the British Association of Sclerotherapists.
